I can't sleep! I'm used to working two jobs and going to school. I was constantly working and very sleep deprived. I no longer have to work two jobs and have been done with school for some time. I have all of this excess energy and I can't sleep! I'm going nutz!



Just to give you an idea, I probably work more than a 40 hour week sometimes six days a week....still not enough!

Believe it or not, I am learning Japanese. Not just for kink, but for professional purposes primarily. Unfortunately, the research that I'd like to do deals with literature prior to WWII. Which sucks because the characters used are different, which means I'm going to have to also learn kanji among other things. I start formal instruction in the winter around January. I am hiring a private tutor.

Right now I am using books and language programs. I am taking two approaches: the memorize as many factoids as I can. From this method, I have learned to speak read and write the following: modern numbers 1-10, days of the week, months of the calendar year.

I am also taking a phonetic approach where I am learning all the basic sounds/syllabaries, from my understanding there are 46 basic sounds (lets say the alphabet). So what's happening is I am, for a lack of a better word, learning katakana to learn how to spell sound out the words. So when I see the characters for the syllabaries I will be able to sound out the words. Its kinda like learning how to spell them. Unfortunately if I learn how to do that, that doesn't mean I know the word meaning, I just can sound the word out. In order to understand the words, I also have to learn the characters. I guess the best way to explain it is that, just because I can pronounce and spell the word, doesn't mean I know what the word or idea means.

My goal is to be able to have a very rudimentary conversation, count monies, ask for directions and read signs by June. Wish me luck!

Suzanne Vega's song "Pornographer's Dream" has me wondering about what pornographers dream of? How would people who produce what is called pornography look at women? Would they look at woman as objects or am I just stereotyping? Would they idolize them in such a way some people idolize The Madonna?"

Would they have tea and talk ethics? Take a walk in a garden filled with lilies? Go to a jazz club and eat angel hair pasta with scampi by candle light?

Never the less, makes me wonder since I have an increasing interest in photographing the women I tie and having the images published... here are the lyrics to the song and I have posted the video below. I will leave you to it :)

Inverted Florentine flogging was something I couldn't conceive of about 5 years ago. It did become a reality soon after, but I couldn't not perform this technique with any power. I dismissed it as a useless pursuit. Its pretty, but not functional. Yeah sure I could do it, but why? Just like any other skill left unused, you loose it. But I felt that I could do it still. UNTIL I tried doing it last Feb.

Now lets go on and clarify a few things before I expand this. I am not talking about a four count double figure 8, were the patterns make a 1-2-3-4 sound on impact. I'm talking about the six count where it makes a 1-2-3-(.5 second or less pause depending on how fast you are bringing your outside and inside swings around to recalibrate)4-5-6 sound on impact. Now try to do a six count with significant power and then try to do it using nothing but underhand strokes. Difficult, and difficult to do with significant power.

Back to the story, I was told that it wasn't possible, soooo that set me off. Not only did I relearn it, but I found a way to do it with moderate power. Now its just an issue of focus and control. I pride myself on being like a surgeon with floggers. But I have been concentrating on so much stuff as of late, that I have let my skills go. But they're back!

Now, I'm gonna re-visit that ever illusive 10-count technique, and the 8-count with twin double ended floggers.

So I was wondering if a few people were interested in helping us show Mark Yu the night life/culture that OKC has to offer.  I was thinking about opera, then I decided on ballet, then I decided on a cartoon marathon.  All of those very worthwhile activities.

I finally settled with an oldie but a goodie, what about going to a nice old fashioned tittie bar.  So if anyone is interested, please send me an email.  If you have some suggestions please let me know.

I'm pleased to announce that another rope enthusiast group has started in the mid-western region.  Kinbaku_KCMO will have its first meeting after the AHS social.  The first topic will be "learning the ropes and getting to know each other".  We plan to have meetings (rope days) quarterly and follow a similar education/meeting format as its sister group in Oklahoma City, Kinbaku_OKC.  Speaking of which, I'd like to take a minute to inform you about the next event in OKC.

BTW we are looking for a few photographers as well.  Models, this may be a good opportunity for you to do some shots in some nice ropework.

Hello all the time has come for us to have our first rope day although
I know the date isn't ideal it will be Nov 29. The day will start out
with a class over the ground work of decorative rope bondage followed
by a rope lounge where we can share ideas practice what we have
learned ask advise of others there and basically share with each other
our love of rope, then a break for those that want to go get something
to eat or if you want to stay there you can as this will be a chance
for photographers and rope models to to do a little shooting so they
can have some bondage stuff to add to there portfolio following all
this will be party so we can all have fun and do what we do best. We
are asking for donations to help with the cost of putting on the day
and the party basically to cover the space rental, please if you would
like snack and drinks please bring them.


Chewy

Not really sure how I got so involved into promoting stuff, but it snowballed and it happened.  Oh yeah, this three (almost four) year plunge happened because I wanted to do the title circuit one more time.  I had every full intention of returning, but became involved with other projects that can and would continue, as the opportunities are readily available.

I plan on starting my monthly column back in October after ILS/b weekend.  I'm not sure of the focus or if there will be a focus.
